Seven Towers (Castles)
The acropolis of Thessaloniki and the last defense of the city. The notorious prisons of Yedi Koule were hosted there, it had been a place of confinement and martyrdom for a long period of the 20th century. Today, this place no longer functions as a prison - it was moved in 1989 - it has been restored and maintained. Passing through the first gate, Portara, looks the highest point, the famous Yedi Koule (meaning "seven towers"). Inside, beyond the breathtaking view, you can also enjoy a "green breath" in the "Garden of Pasha", as it is called the large park opposite the eastern walls is called.
